I'm fine - going through a lot of emotional tumolt. Good to hear from you (and you'll have seen my Comment). If I can't sleep tonight, I'll think of you and Spanish ballads, a subject I know zero about. Btw, are you studying Lorca? x

That's one thing we have in common then, I know nothing about them either.
I am studying Lorca, yes, or rather staring at it desperately trying to find some sense in the random sentences and failing. At the moment though I am writing about 'el romancero viejo' which is a collection of even older ballads (I think).
Im just trying to do some reading on them. It's very fascinating. To quote one of the books: 'they are of the older epochs of balladry, they are not abundant in ballad corpora of secondary formation.' I have been loking at that line for quite some time and have still failed to find a meaning.
Sorry to hear you've not been feeling too well. I hope things get better for you.
I think I am still hangover from Friday, my head is all strange and Im feeling really dizzy. Is it even possible???-

A few years ago I visited his house in Granada - and his family home in a little town outside, where he was murdered. It gave me a powerful sense of the man without reading a word! Although I have read a couple of his plays, and acted in a scene from one of them. Of course he was friends with Dali and Picasso, I think...
Enough of this me, me, me - you should back to the 'romenceros viejos' Why are some text books written in such a grim style?

Yep, I know the feeling. I am having an all-nighter tonight, an essay on Spanish ballads. It will involve significant amounts of proplus Im afraid since I've not even started it yet. Not the stupidest thing I've done recently as you'll find out reading my new post. Hope you're ok there x
