that's the note to strike here, isn't it? Eccentric, but not loony.
in fact what I need most is ordinary. feet on the ground. no dostoevsky. no grandiosity. no longing for a blinding light on the way to Damascus.

I guess it's good to want normality but.. you're not going to get it by avoiding how you're actually feeling. Pretending something's not there and not a problem makes everything worse when it comes to actually.. dealing with it.

Pro I don't want 'normalilty'! When I wrote this I was very tired but trying to be ironic. Many people on this site (mainly older people; //certainly// not you) behave if they are totally together and in control and there is basically nothing inside that disturbs them. Mostly that is bullshit.
I am defo not in the business of pretending that there is no problem. But like you (and despite my helpful woman therapist) I find it hard to put my finger on exactly what the problem is.
Often - as in the previous post which I tried to disown - I try to take a stab at defining what is wrong - and the feel vulnerable, as if I have not explained myself properly.
I want to be 'ordinary' in the sense that I don't want to pretentious, with my head in the clouds.
Make sense?
