And I did have a wonderful walk today - in Wimbledon Common.

The sun lit up every tree and falling leaves.  Lots of people were out enjoying it, which made for an almost festive atmosphere.  Many of the leaves are still green, but - surely this doesn't usually happen for at least another month - several of the holly bushes were sporting ripe red berries.

The only sad thing is that the stream that used to be full of gushing water all year is still dry.

One of the paths I walked along runs near to a large old cemetary. Two children passed me on their bikes, a boy about eight, and a girl about ten.  (Their dad was someway behind, helping the yongest on her tricycle).

As the passed me, the girl said to the boy: "Why d'ya think it best to be cr'mated?"
